PUNCTUALITY
Punctuality is the politeness of kings and queens, the duty of gentlemen and ladies and the
necessity of business people.
Every student is expected to be in the School 5 minutes before the Assembly Bell. If students are
late for the Assembly they will receive 3 warning notices, after which they are liable to be sent
home at the parent's own risk.
The Attendance Roll will be called out at the beginning of each Session. Those who are not in class
will be marked absent. Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence for more than a
week, habitual idleness, disobedience or objectionable moral influence, justify dismissal. Students
and responsible to the school authorities for their conduct both in and out of the school and
Catholics, for the performance of their religious duties as well.
MORNING ASSEMBLY. At the first sound of the bell all stop wherever they may be. The students use
this PAUSE to compose themselves and get ready for prayer. At the sound of the second bell they move
silently to the place of ASSEMBLY where they stand according to their classes. The Assembly is
conducted by the students or by Principal on special occasions. After reciting the morning prayer, a
hymn is sung. Everyday a student speaks to the entire School on any topic of her choice or reads the
news for the day. School information is given by the Principal. The students then proceed to their
classes. No student who is five minutes late will be admitted to class without the Principal’s
Signature. No student is permitted to leave the School premises during the Recess or otherwise
except with the written permission of the Principal. After Class, a prayer is said and then all
leave the School.
Important Note: Only the students of class XII who have obtained a driving license are allowed to
come to school on two-wheelers (mopeds, scooters etc.). It is compulsory for them to wear helmets.
SILENCE
There is a time for speaking and time for being still. Special care must be taken by teachers and
students to preserve an ATMOSPHERE OF SILENCE AND SERIOUS WORK during class hours.
ORDER
A place for everything and everything in its place. Running, playing, shouting inside the school
building is never allowed. When moving along corridors from one class to another the rule is always
: keep left and respect classes at work moving with as little noise as possible.
Students from one class may not visit their friends in other classrooms during class hours or free
periods. Silence must be observed in the corridors and on the stairs during class hours. There
should be no loud talking at the change of periods.
During the absence of the class teacher, each Class Prefect is responsible for the order and
discipline of the Students in her class. Silence must be observed outside the Principal's
office.
No students is permitted to come to the Principal's office during class hours-except for good or
urgent reasons. Students must not remain in the classrooms during the Recess.
Students must not go to the water fountain during class hours except for very special reasons. No
student may leave the school premises during the class hours without permission from the Principal.
Going without permission will be dealt with severely.
Students may use the telephone with permission. Permission will be given only in urgent cases. All
must leave the classroom after school so as to enable the helpers to do the cleaning. Books,
Newspapers, Periodicals and Magazines may never be brought into the School without the knowledge and
sanction of the Principal. These may be confiscated.
No collection for any purpose what-so-ever may be made in the school without the permission of the
Principal. Presents to teachers or other demonstrations in their honour also require previous
permission of the principal. The school is not responsible for books, money and cardigans that are
lost. Students must look after their own money or valuable articles with them. No jewellery of any
kind, precious or artificial will be allowed. Each girl is advised to bring her books, etc. in a bag
or case that can be securely locked. No Student is permitted to enter the Staff Room.
COURTESY
Beauty without Courtesy is like a grove without flowers. Students shall always greet their teachers,
elders and friends in a pleasant and audible tone whenever they meet them in school or outside.
They shall maintain a good posture whenever they sit, stand, or walk. They shall be polite in
speaking to one another, always avoiding the use of slang.
SCHOOL CLEANLINESS
Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
All must consider it their responsibility to keep the School Premises clean.
Every child must be particularly careful to avoid throwing waste-paper, fruit-peels, etc. out of the
windows or on the school grounds. Use should be made of the waste paper baskets and bins provided
for this purpose.
CARE OF SCHOOL PROPERTY
Be as careful of the property of others as you would be of your own. Children should take special
care of School Property i.e. furniture, apparatus, etc. Any damage done to School property must be
made good.
BEHAVIOUR OUTSIDE SCHOOL
Behaviour is a mirror in which everyone shows his image.
Students are answerable to the School Authorities for their conduct both in School and outside. They
ought always to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of the dignity of a human being. Misbehavior
justifies dismissal. Students are not permitted to patronize roadside vendors or eat on the road.
